CONNIE Beta · effective 15 July 2026
CONNIE is a research preview AI compliance assistant for Australian construction practitioners. Answers may be incomplete, out of date, or incorrect. Nothing generated by CONNIE constitutes legal advice, certification, or a substitute for the judgement of a registered building surveyor, engineer, or other qualified professional. You are responsible for verifying every output against the current published National Construction Code, referenced Australian Standards, and applicable state or territory regulations before acting on it.
Use CONNIE for its intended purpose: practitioner research and compliance drafting on waterproofing and fire stopping scopes. Do not use CONNIE to generate content that is unlawful, misleading, defamatory, or that infringes another party's rights.
Extraction, reverse-engineering, or bulk-retrieval of the CONNIE compliance brain by automated means is prohibited. Violation may result in immediate account suspension and legal action under Australian Consumer Law and Copyright Act 1968.
This includes, without limitation: scripted or headless-browser retrieval; enumeration of the underlying knowledge base by iterating queries; scraping of citations, verbatim quotes, or curated extracts for downstream reuse; and any attempt to reproduce a material portion of the CONNIE compliance brain outside the chat interface. We monitor query volume, timing, and diversity per user and reserve the right to rate-limit, suspend, or terminate accounts that exhibit extraction patterns, with or without notice.
The CONNIE compliance brain — including curated extracts, verbatim citations, confidence scoring, and the underlying ingestion pipeline — is proprietary. Your licence to use CONNIE does not transfer any rights in that brain. Public standards and NCC content quoted by CONNIE remain the property of their respective publishers (SAI Global, Standards Australia, the Australian Building Codes Board, and others) and are surfaced under fair-dealing for practitioner research.
To protect the service and its users, per-account query limits apply (currently 20 queries per hour and 200 per day per user). Limits may change without notice. Exceeding these limits results in a temporary block until the window resets.
Documents, drawings, and photos you upload are processed to generate compliance findings. Do not upload material you are not authorised to share.
CONNIE is provided "as is" during the beta, without any express or implied warranty as to accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or availability. Use is at your own risk.
Questions about these terms, or reports of suspected misuse, can be raised through the in-app feedback channel.
